Go with the 8 minutes at 70F for a dual-purpose negative that will
serve you for both silver and Pt/Pd. If you are only interested in
Pt/Pd develop even longer, from 10-12 minutes. (I am assuming a
normal SBR of 7?)
The recommended 6 minute development time is ok for silver printing
but it will give you a CI that is really too low for Pt/Pd.
