I have found the Stanley HandHelpers Refinishing gloves to last about 4
months to a year depending on use. Typically they will get pinholes
from the corners of the negatives. They should be checked periodically
by blowing up slightly like a balloon and submersing in a container of
water (look for bubbles). It is best to check rather than all of a
sudden find you have a wet finger. As they get older with use, they may
weaken as well. I find it best to have a spare pair handy. If one glove
goes bad, I only replace it rather than both.
