Tillman, it's *possible* the trouble is with the safelight. I have a
couple that were made by apparently dipping bulb in red lacquer. The
lacquer chips/scratches VERY readily, as you can see if you look at it
closely and see specks of white light peeking through here and there.
I've cured this by jumping up and down and flinging curses, then sticking
on bits of opaque tape, and/or red nail polish, and/or wrapping the whole
blinking thing in a cone of rubylith.
