Sam, I've thought of trying that -- ie., using cyano for a deepening
undercoat -- but the way I print it wouldn't work -- unless I made a
separate VERY CONTRASTY neg for the cyano, because I don't want a weak
blue under everything, which is pretty much the way it comes out, but SOME
blue under just the darker shadows... (I'm working from a monochrome
neg.)

Last thing I tried (in progress now) was a very thin coat of black first.
Then, since it's gum, the parts you don't want can be brushed off. But I
think I didn't brush off enough -- or something. Lukas wrote about putting
the black on last... But that's resized between coats (right, Lukas?) and
I don't feel up to that if possible to avoid. On the other hand, maybe
that was why the Spinel black worked -- it was ON TOP OF the other stuff,
not right on the paper???

Best so far was putting the black on as a middle coat, tho maybe just
luck... (If the red & blue layers are strong enough I don't need a black,
but that has other complications.)

Judy
