I would advise using thin gelatin filters instead of the glass series
filters as they will cause less degradation and flare. Gelatin filters are
available in 75mm and 100mm square size and there are devices that will
clamp over the lens to allow you to use them on either the front or the
back of the lens (I recommend the back).

High quality multi-coated glass filters available which cause very little
flare and/or image degradation. However, compared to gelatin filters they
are *very* expensive.
