Bob, there's a "stain removing" bleach & redeveloper, in fact 2 of them,
that have handled everything I've ever thrown at them, and with all the
toning I did, I've had some mighty stains.

Have you got either potassium permangante (for SR#1) or potassium
dichromate (for S-R#2)? You can probably get the k permanganate at the
drugstore -- used for athlete's foot soaks, but the dichromate is simpler
so I'll start with that:

SR#2

Dissolve 13 g potass bichromate in 600 ml water. Add 30 ml hydrochloric
acid (muriatic acid).

Bleach print. Rinse in several changes of water, then rinse in sodium
sulfite sol. (about 1/4 tsp/cup). Rinse several times more. Redevelop in
developer of your choice.

Full instructions for stain removing also in the famous World Journal of
Post-Factory Photography, Issue #3, page 28, along with dozens of other
formulas for toners, bleaches, intensifiers, etc. (Not to mention make yr
own gold chloride, as has caused so much excitement.)

I'll add however that I have used 10-year old glycin that was quite dark
brown & saw no staining. Are you certain it's the glycin?

Judy
