What I've found is that a more yellow stain = relatively long exposures and
only modest contrast enhancement, while green stain = shorter exposures and
more contrast boost (Pt/Pd). Also the yellower stain can be too much of a
good thing with VC silver papers and require a high contrast printing filter
to compensate.---Carl
