How about considering the request 10-20 *slides* and that will solve your
dilemma. If one series is photographed on one slide, with a number of
images, so be it one slide. Otherwise a series of 7 individual slides would
be 7 items. You just label each one with the series and placement in the
series info and such. Most places want to see a cohesive body of work
anyway, so if there are a series of 7 with similar qualities/subject matter,
that will not go against you. I've been told, in checking out grad schools
all over, to not "jump around" in my portfolio slides with a little bit o'
this and that, but to try for a body of work that shows my signature style.
However, others who have already gotten into grad school may have a
different slant.
