digest form as solution to traffic

One solution to the high volume of messages might be to have an
optional digest form available. With a digest, you download all the
messages for one day in one big message. Usually a digest has a sort
of table of contents at the top that you can look at quickly and
delete the whole thing if nothing interests you. I don't know how
listserv people set up digests, but I have been on several lists that
had that option. If you think this list has a lot of messages every
day, try the Knit List! (Actually there are several lists about
knitting, but the Big Knit List has hundreds of messages a day. Most
of them are about people's grandchildren and their cats. At least we
stay on topic, more or less! In fact the Big Knit List got to be
such a chatty, off topic list that another knit list had to be
created called Knit Tech--all knitting, all the time, no chat.)
