        Perhaps but IMO the patriotic spin was a little overboard. In fact I wish
we could hear Adams thoughts on Manzanar. I know that dimmed any enthusiasm that
he may have had with a splash of reality.

        As to being a "gung-ho Sierran", well yes he was and no he wasn't. A.A.
was a good friend of Muirs and also a past president of the Sierra Club. But he
resigned from the S.C. in the early 70's and states that he had many differences
with the new goals and direction that the club has taken.
