  As a general note: posts to mailing lists should be made in plain text,
not HTML. Microsoft and AOL turn everything on by default. Both have
places in the program settings to set them for plain text. Please turn off
HTML if you have it on. Not only does it result in unpredictable displays
on some mail readers but it expands the size of a message by about three
times.
  Those having mail readers which do not decode HTML will get a lot of
gibberish from the formatting instructions.
  If HTML is not sent the font style and size in the display is set on the
receiving machine.
