Carl,
I would recommend fixing briefly after redevelopment from any bleach
that converts the image back to silver halides in order to guarantee that
all the silver is taken care of.
I use the pyro redevelopment with the potassium bromide/hydrochloric
acid bleach. These components may be varied to increase the amount of
intensification, within reason, and I don't fix until I've repeated the
procedure enough times to get the contrast I'm looking for.
Steve Anchell's book has these formulae.
