Hey Everyone,
So today i tried my first Cyanotype on glass. it didn't work very well, so
i thought i'd send out a message to see if anyone might be able to give me
some tips. i'll explain the process i used:
first i washed the glass. i'm using window pane glass that i had cut for me
at Home Depot. after washing, i coated the glass with a glyoxal/gelatin
sizing solution. it's the one Stephen Livick uses in his gum prints. 6.5g
of gelatin, 250ml of water, and 10ml of a 40% glyoxal solution. i coated
the glass and let it dry, 3 times. after this i coated it with a cyanotype
solution with some gelatin in it, per Manikova's suggestion.
i exposed the glass with my UV unit.
upon development the image started flaking off. so what did i do wrong? i
tried to be as meticulous as possible with everything. does anyone have any
ideas as to what went wrong?
thanks in advance,
Steve
