Steve, check into the Epson 2450. For 35mm, it probably gets outdone by film
scanners. But I scan 6x9 and 4x5, and it works out very well for
me. David Brooks ran a review of it in Shutterbug about a year ago. Check it
out. It isn't even all that expensive.

i just priced the Nikon LS-4500AF, and of course it's ridiculously
expensive. so does anyone know of alternatives to this? should i just use a
flatbed?
