Sandy:
Here is a list of some papers that I've been used over the last couple of
months:
1. COT320 (Platine with some TLC during manufacture, I suspect) - good
contrast, detail is fine, clears in HCA or EDTA/Sodium Sulfite easily
2. Arches Platine - get a bad batch with the impurities that cause black
speckling, and you will be hating life. When it is clean, it is excellent. I
have also noticed some sizing irregularities occasionally that give prints a
mottled look. Always in the sky, of course.
3. Whatman's Watercolor or Printmaking paper - hot press - 1% oxalic
dunk-and-dry prior to printing makes this paper sing
4. Cranes Platinotype with polyvinyl acetate added to the coating mix, then
dried quickly
5. Bienfang 360.- some drying issues. It is very thin and crinkly after
processing
6. Wyndstone Vellum - ditto the drying issues
7. Socorro Platinum or Van Gelder Simili Japon
Good luck,
Clay
