I use oxalic on Platine all the time. How long are you letting it soak? I
just dip it very quickly in, let it drip and then hang it. I've notice that
all Platine has really irregular internal sizing when you're doing the wet
processing steps. Hold a sheet up to the light after the 2nd or 3rd clearing
bath and you'll see. But it doesn't seem to affect the final print. I do
think my earlier problems with getting Platine to clear, however, were due
to this internal sizing puddles soaking up sensitizer back before I began
fan drying it and was just allowing it to air dry. I think I'd coat a sheet
and print and see if it is a problem. My guess is it's probably okay.
Platine is just scary looking when wet.
