I wonder if these are the same black spots/speckles I've seen when
testing Platine for gum printing, which look to me like the same black
speckles that have led gum printers to abandon Arches aquarelle, in
which case it may not be related to anything in the platinum process per
se but to problems in the way Arches sizes their papers.
