Many thanks to all who replied (off-list) to my earlier post. Having
looked at the concensus, from all the inputs, my Argyrotypes are now
improving by: changing paper, rehumidifying before exposure, toning with
1% selenium before fixing, using a weaker fix etc.

A few more weeks and I may understand how all the process stages work
together...
