Judy,

For kallitype the developer is a straight 20% solution of ammonium
citrate. Sodium citrate works also at the same strength solution. You
control contrast with either by adding a few ml of a 5% potassium
dichromate solution directly to the developer, up to about 30ml per
liter at which point the contrat of the solution is such that you
would be able to print negatives meant for silver.
