Wasn't Weston a big fan of the Azo - Amidol combination?

Also from "Darkroom 2 ; 1978--

"The Weston negative have been printed on a number of papers over the years. Early in his
career, Dad used platinum paper. As he matured as an artist, he grew to feel platinum was
too "soft" for his work, and he began printing on silver papers. The early silver paper
were also relatively "soft" compared to most of the ones today. Among those that dad used
were Velox, Apex, Convair, Defender Velour Black and Haloid......"

Yes, he was a fan of Amidol- even had his own formula variation.

I don't know about negatives, but he cleaned his print frame glass "with toilet paper".
