Thom, you are exactly right. The curator-- and perhaps the curatorial world
that seeks to establish the "Gods"-- should be taken to task. At any rate,
the pictures in the current ICP show have been eternally codified in a new
book that goes with it.
Indeed, Coleman's remarks appeared in an essay on just this subject, "On
Redaction: Heaps and Wholes, or, Who Empties the Circular File, " found in
Coleman's Depth of Field book.
