I am a bit late in replying!
The Silane I know of is used as a starting liquid for rockets. It has
the ability to combust in contact with air - - even at very high
altitudes (above 100,000 ft).
My old Kodak Lab Chem cat. lists Silane as
(3-Methacryloxypropyl)trimethoxysilane and notes it is packaged under
argon.
