Hello Pablo,
I'm also new to these techniques, so I can't help you with this.
I can recommend a good book I bought: The Keepers of the Light, A History &
Working guide To Early Photographic Processes, by William Crawford,
published in 1979 by Morgan & Morgan, ISBN 87100-158-6
This book is supposed to be the standard for books on these sujects. I've
readquit a lot in this book and it is real good.
About the printer: before you start spending money on hardware, try it with
your printer first. I have followed several discussions on this topic and
found that a lot of the participants had good results on "old" or "simple"
printers.
And if you decide this is the way you want to go (after some experimenting)
you can still spend your money on a new printer.
Greetings from (an unexperienced) Bert from Holland, Europe

I've been reading some of mails posted and got quite well impressed by some
of the names found and their big knowledge. Then I must say I'm glad to
have landed in here.
I'm an argentinean photographer living in Buenos Aires city and am about to
go for kallitypes following directions given by Sandy King as I think that
fits me well.
In the meantime I've read about making digital negatives using Pictorico OHP
and/or PGHG (Pictorico Pro Photo Gallery Hi-Gloss Film).
Then here's my first question, sorry if this has already been discussed:
As I don't know any of both materials I'd like to hear form someone who
really worked or had the chance to heard more of both.
On the other side I wonder if my older poor Epson 1200 with regular Epson
inks would fit well the workflow or I'd better go for a newer 1280.
Thanks in advance
Pablo
