To be perfectly clear, I should add that these inconsistencies appeared
in Arches paper at a specific point in time; they weren't always present
in the paper. Stephen Livick noticed and gave up printing on Arches as
a result of this change a year or two before I did. Daniel Smith must
have had a good supply of the old stuff, because I went on printing
happily on Arches for two or three orders of paper after Livick had
announced that it was too inconsistent to rely on, and I daresay I
probably even argued with him about it. But then I got a batch that
proved unfortunately that he was right.
