The Haynes and Crumpler book is available for Photoshop 7. The ISBN # is
0-7357-1240-9.

Another book that I have found very useful (seems exceptionally logically
organized and straightforward) is:
Real World Adobe Photoshop 7 by David Blatner and Bruce Fraser. The ISBN#
is 0-321-111560-0.

Photoshop 6 Artistry
Mastering the Digital Image
by Barry Haynes and Wendy Crumpler
published by New Riders

I got mine at a bookstore, but I'm sure Amazon has it. By now it is
probably
Photoshop 7 Artistry. I like it because it tells you exactly how to do
specific operations. It also has some very good basic information.
