I'd second that. I got one a few months ago and it's been a pretty good
scanner and can scan both platen and film (35mm, 120, & 4x5). The only two
things that bother me are 1-no focus adjustment for the transparencies and
2-it's slow. It does a pretty good job of focusing but I'm used to having
control over that and for the odd negative or two that it just doesn't want
to focus on in the correct spot it's a pain in the butt. I know I probably
shouldn't complain about the slow part either but I'm impatient and when I
want to work on an image, I really just want to jump right into it and get
started not wait for the scanner to warm up, preview and scan it. Ah well,
for the price, it can't be beat especially if you're a photo student on a
budget but for a bit more I'd look into some of the Epson's with
transparency ability. Putting in my two cents from a usual lurker, Amy
Cutting
