Christopher James's "Book of Alternative Processes" has a section on it,
which was what got John Dugdale started, John Barnier's "Coming into
Focus" has a chapter by Mike Robinson, one of the major albumen printers
of the known world, James Reilly's "Albumen & Salted paper book," out of
print, is also very good, and, I understand that the Stanford University
website has many of the classics (including Reilly) for download.
Post-Factory #8, upcoming, has an article on Dugdale's albumen, telling
all, with olfactory details, though I'm not allowed to tell when it will
be available.
