I've never had any problem having film sent from NYC to Europe - Spain,
Germany, UK. Have it sent DHL and you shouldn't have a problem. Good luck.

    Hello,

I plan to send some film samples to a friend accross the Atlantic, from
the EU.
My feeling is that I am pretty sure this will be destroyed by X-Rays or
Gamma Rays even (who knows).
I don't want to spoil film like that. I need advices and tricks to avoid
having my films fogged at the customs.
Any trick to avoid it. Some recommend to use a private transporter, but
it's far more expensive.
Did you experience good/bad things with your films sent by postal
services ?

    Thanks,

  Phillipe,
I have ordered sheet film from Photoimpex in Berlin on several
occasions since 9/11. They mark the package "Photographic Material- Do Not
X-Ray" or something similar- I don't remember the exact labeling. They used
the Bundespost and US Postal Service. No special wrapping inside. I have had
no fogging problems. The packages don't appear to have even been opened. No
guarantee, but that's my experience. Hope this helps.
  Cheers,
  Charlie
