FWIW (as we acronymists refer to it), the scale of cyanotype is variable.
Among options are paper changes (some soft papers have longer scale) and
precoats. As I recall I used a very weak oxalic, alum & maybe acetic to
coat paper before applying the emulsion, and let dry. Adds a couple of
steps. Another option is keeping the paper after coating.... makes a
longer scale. May lose D-Max, but probably not with double coating. (P-F
