Hi Sam,

I'd like a copy of the curve. Thanks for making it available.

For those who received the curve, I want to make it clear that it would work ONLY for Vandyke. It might work for Salt/Albumen, but it most definitely will NOT work for most other processes such as gum!

For Vandyke, just use the traditional formula. No need for the fancy higher contrast Ferric Citrate variety. However, I would very much recommend toning it with Pt/Pd as suggested by Sandy - it makes the print so much more permanent, and possibly add a little to the DMax as well.

For those interested in how I developed the curve (sorry Dan, I'm no digital guru but you haven't posted a curve for Vandyke yet): first I printed a black to white scale along with one broken into 9 steps (to coincide with the basic points on the curve), read off the densities. Based on that and what I knew I needed to print fully with Vandyke (2.1), I nudged the points till the printout corresponded to what I needed. I have to admit that I prefer a more full bodied negative, so others may want to further fine tune it before making a whole bunch of negatives with it.

The procedure to follow with this curve:
  - do whatever till you have a positive greyscale image on the monitor the way you like it, with Levels set at where they should be (black point, white point, etc.)
  - Invert the image
  - Image -> Adjust -> Curve - load in my curve
  - then print on the Pictorico OHT with Epson 2200 (all bets are off if you use a different printer):
     use color inks
set media at Premium Gloss paper setting
print at 2880 dpi with High Speed turned off.

I would love feedback. But please do not try the curve if the above is not crystal clear - you'll be wasting your time.
