I have been tempted to do the same; however many spam addresses I believe
are protected against this (they don't receive emails). Also, a recent court
judgement imposed a prison term on someone who sent thousands of emails to
one address. There is a federal statute (if I remember correctly) that
punishes people for damaging IT infrastructure. This was used (at a stretch)
for this prosecution.
