I would like to scan some 12X20 negatives in 16 bits with a 12X17"
scanner in two scans and stitch them together in Photoshop. I know
how to do the stiching, but my stiching method will not work in 16
bits because Photoshop will not allow me to use the Move tool unless
I change the Mode of the two files to 8 bits.
Any way around this? And if not, is there is any advantage to
scanning in 16 bits if the file must be immediately converted to 8
bits for the stiching operation?
