Robert,
Regarding tonal quality in your Van Dyke prints, do you print a step wedge
with curve applied along with your image? This will show if your curve
needs to be adjusted. I started with Dan Burkholder's platinum curve for my
Van Dykes and had to make about three adjustments to the curve before
getting the right contrast. Sorry I have no suggestion for the second
problem. I use Stonehenge paper and have never had anything come off in the
final wash.
