We just had a long discussion about Photowarehouse film so check the
archives, I won't go into the details of it, but it is the Crystal Clear
Ultrafine 758-11174 film. It works for some, others get smeared negs. So
it depends on your printer, as does your curve. I have the Epson 2200 and it
works great for me and others on that printer. I use it because, for
example, in a half semester I went thru a 100 sheet box of 11x17 ($80). In
Pictorico this would be triple the cost. Pictorico is a better film, no
question about it, thicker and more absorbent, but cost is a major concern
for me with tricolor gum.

The curve is not so much proprietary as it is something you have to work out
for all your variables combined in how you do gum. I would suggest you check
out Mark Nelson's book on Precision Digital Negs. He has worked out a system
which is tailor made to an individual's printer/scanner/process etc. so once
you do the steps you will have your own curve to use. If you change
printers, it will more than likely be different (dif inks produce dif
density negs and so on and so forth). I find my curve I use is not at all
the same on a C84 as it is on a 2200.
