Sodium Carbonate

Hi All,

A friend of mine has suggested that I could use pH adjuster used for
swimming pools as a substitute for sodium carbonate. IOW, the pH adjuster is
supposedly sodium carbonate.

Does anyone know if there is any truth to his suggestion?
