Though I have not done a lot of testing, I think my process eliminates drag:
Every thirty seconds I lift the drum and turn it around, so the developer
runs to the bottom of the tube. Then I replace it on the motor base so that
it is turning the opposite direction.
I did, however settle on tray development as being simpler, once I learned
to use minimum volume of solution.
