RE: powdered albumen

Hi Kees,

With Steinbach (drawing paper?) I've had only bad pictures.
After coating with silver nitrate there were a lot of brown stain marks.
The paper I use is Rives BFK and Canson Montval. Montval is cheap and
also good for other processes. Easily found in different weights and
surfaces.

hello Luc,
Nice to hear that powdered albumen also works without 'frothing' and
'ripening'. never tried it though. But I thought about it when
looking at the dissolved powder. It's very smooth. The albumen is
allready 'denaturized' by the drying process I think.

I did not know that the acidity of the albumen controls the gloss.

By the way, what paper did you use for your prints? Do you know if
Steinbach (B), once one of the major albumen paper stock producers,
still makes a suitable paper?
