Digi Sep neg not in register

Hello,

When printing separation negs (splitted channels)
on an Epson 5500 there is a strange problem.
The R (cyan) channel print is mostly too big!?
And the amount of off-register differs from image
to image.
Sometimes when printing it a second time it's ok.
Have had this problem only once earlier some
years ago on an Epson 1290 (R channel also).
Can anyone explain?
