Walnut oil from the grocery store is a safe finish for something like a crib.
It's more then the finish you need to worry about. Some woods are toxic. I
have some in the house that can make the skin crawl with minimal contact.
Using some of the tropical woods in a crib even with a food safe finish would
be crazy.
