When I first started to make cyanotypes I read about the metal having
contact with the emulsion and degrade it, so I took my brush and
dismantled it. I took off the metal part (which was aluminum, as far as
I can tell) and glued the bristles onto a small pipe with hot melt glue.
It never rusted ;-) .
