In yak country in the himalayas, the locals make their felt yerts by peeing on the yak hides, rolling them up, and dragging them around on their horses...as for the gums, i just tell people i handle volatile chemicals and intend on dying young for my art, and scoff at them when they don't understand...spitting on the ground and walking away grumbling is also very effective.
