That's a good way to go too. Check the following for the "ComboDock," a
one-time purchase gizmo that converts inexpensive ATA drives into
firewire external drives:

 Now that we can buy internal ATA drives for under $0.25 per gig, it's
practical to use multiple drives for backup security. And yes, we will
have to be media migration aware for some time to come. That's just part
of the life cycle as we go through digital's maturation. Like buying
shoes for a seven year old.
