Interesting, Loris. I find that HP papers are declining in numbers here
too; Lanaquarelle, which gives a nice surface for gum, has just become
unavailable here in H.P .
I completed my cyanos on Bockingford with my evening class last night. I
can't say this was a good test, as I had coated my paper with VDB by
mistake first (as I think I said) and subsequently stripped it with
fixer, perhaps removing any buffering (???) Anyhow, the results were as
good as any I've got on single-coated paper (classic cyano).I noticed
that my students' prints (they had bought Bockingford as well by
coincidence) had a different tone than mine, but will inspect them this
morning to see if that changed on drydown. Anyhow, as a readily
available paper here in N.Z., it's good for starters, and I was
surprised how well the 150gsm stood up to having ben coated, stripped
and recoated then printed and developed.

Cheers
Kate

We have only the CP version of Bockingford here in Istanbul (ecru +
tinted; light yellow, light blue, light green) - it's very hard (almost
impossible) to find HP watercolor paper here; everyone seems to like/use
CP and/or Rough papers for watercolors... Whatever. I didn't like NOT
Bokingford for Cyanotypes (totally subjective comment) and I haven't
tested it with another process. The results were grainy (like flaking
occured) and the paper texture was very pronouced. I guess the paper is
buffered.

Regards,
Loris.
