If a digital scale with the max weight and the readability you want
within your budget, that's best. Digital scales with 0.01g readability
with 100+g max weight are getting cheaper (though 0.1g is probably
enough for most applications). It sometimes happens that beam balances
and other mechanical scales are less expensive for heavier max
weights, even for 0.1g readability.

Check out www.balances.com. Cynmar is good for cheap lab stuff but
balances.com is better this time.
