You might try one of the shooting fraternity's balance scales: e.g, there is
an RCBS 10/10 (I think the company is Huntington Industries) that weighs up
to 10,000 grains which is around 1 Kg (if my maths are correct --:)). They
measure down to 0.1 grain.

There a number of these scale brands about; I don't know what the current
costs are in the US, but we pay around AU$150-00. The RCBS are on the
higher end, so there are others which are cheaper.
