Another gelatin hardening question

I intend to make gum prints on gesso-covered canvas. Gesso contains marble
dust, and so I assume a high ph level. Any thought on the best way to put
hardened gelatin on a gesso surface? I'm thinking gluteraldahyde is not the
way to go.
