Add me to the list. I usually filter the Vandyke solution (using paper
coffee filter) the day after mixing it. Even doing so, the emulsion
shows further precipitation later (1 week after mixing, about 1/4 amount
compared to the first precipitation). I filter it too. Much later, when
silver plating occurs inside the bottle, I throw away the old emulsion
and mix new sensitizer.

BTW, I never managed to reach good Dmax with Vandyke by just one coat. I
always double coat it. What is your experience? Do you get good Dmax
with one layer Vandyke? If so, I will start to think I'm doing something
wrong mixing it (I use directions given in Wynn White's article @
unblinkingeye.com) - or my concept for good Dmax is a little bir
exaggerated...

Regards,
Loris.

hi,
I also use the liquid on top. Mixing the solution just before coating I
had a grainy and uneven result.
ciao
