Mark,
This is sort of a loaded question, but the cyanotype layer is thinner and
crisper than a layer of gum, so I would have to say in general, probably. It
would be like the difference between a palladium layer and a gum layer.
This is not to say gum does not print fine detail, yada yada yada. The
detail can be paper dependent--e.g. cold press vs. hot press--as well as
process dependent.
