Indeed we must! I also think we must be ready and willing to make mistakes and experiments, and produce failure prints, now and then in order, as you say, to further learn. Especially students!
       We once met a guy hoping to sell his gum prints at an exhibition at a prestigious venue in London, many years back. Under his stall was a cardboard box full of what he considered as his ''failed'' gum prints. He informed us that he had twice as many in the box earlier that day and had sold half of the prints at a fiver each . Great encouragement !
