I imagine that many List members are acquainted with the life and work of Robert Demachy.
The book by Bill Jay gives a startlingly alive and real account of Demachy, his outlook, his style of living, his aspirations.
''ROBERT DEMACHY. Photographs and Essays.'' by Bill Jay. First published in Great Britain in 1974 by Academy Editions. ISBN 85670 185 8.
But the book is not basically technical and so one has to look elsewhere for specific details of the gum printing processes Demachy used.
One wonders if Demachy would have considered this current issue of top/bottom gum hardening somewhere in his writings.
Anyone know anything?
